Makna Lagu What If (with Morray) - J. Cole & Morray

Di lagu ini, J. Cole ngebayangin skenario "what if" alias gimana jadinya kalau konflik besar dalam sejarah hip-hop nggak pernah kejadian. Ia seolah menulis surat terbuka untuk dua legenda, 2Pac dan The Notorious B.I.G., yang dulu terjebak dalam perseteruan East Coast vs West Coast. Cole membangun narasi seakan mereka masih punya kesempatan buat ngobrol baik-baik sebelum semuanya makin panas. Ada rasa penyesalan, ego, salah paham, dan campur tangan media yang bikin situasi makin runyam.

Verse demi verse terasa emosional karena yang disorot bukan cuma dramanya, tapi rasa kehilangan.
