Itās a peaceful feeling just to turn the key
Itās given warmth and security
And what more do we really need?
Iāve seen every scratch and her every creek
Me and dad planted the maple tree
I put some miles on that old porch swing
Rocking to the rainy nights
And I donāt know where Iāll go from here
Or how the days turned to years
And I canāt get sentimental cause I know only people make the home
But this little house has been good to me
Iāve smelled birthday cakes and Christmas trees
Iāve stacked dishes in that kitchen sink with grandma Thanksgiving Day
I thought Iād live here for my kids to see
But life changes got the best of me
One day Iāll drive āem down this little street and show āem my old stomping grounds
And I donāt know where Iāll go from here
And how the days turned to years
And I canāt get sentimental cause I know only people make the home
But this little house has been good to me
People come and go but it never leaves
It was raining as I packed so you couldnāt see the tear drop when I drove away
