DG From the windows of heaven
AD All of Glory could see
AG The crowd slowly gathering
A At Mount Calvary.
G Father, please stop them
AD The Angels all cried
G But as Jesus was dying
AD They heard God reply

G Go close the window
AD And pulled down the shade
G I will look when it’s over
A And the debt has been paid.
G I just can’t bear to see
AG What the world’s gonna do
D Go close the window
AD Till the soldiers are through

G Heaven’s windows flew open
AD With each cry from the cross
G But when God turned away
A It seemed all hope was lost.
G But what a glorious victory

AD He had won on that day
GA When the Angels fell silent as they heard
D God say
G Go close the window
AD And pulled down the shade
G I will look when it’s over
A And the debt has been paid.
G I just can’t bear to see
AG What the world’s gonna do
D Go close the window
AG Till the soldiers are through

A Go close the window
D
