Verse:
EAbmC#mBA I'm gonna make a change, for once in my life
EAbmC#m It's gonna feel real good, gonna make a difference
BA Gonna make it right
EAbmC#mB As I, turn up the collar on my favorite winter coat
A This wind is blowin' my mind
EAbmC#m I see the kids in the street, with not enough to eat
BA Who am I, to be blind? Pretending not to see their needs
 Bridge:
F#mAbm A summer's disregard, a broken bottle top
AAbm And a one man's soul
F#mAbm They follow each other on the wind ya' know
AB 'Cause they got nowhere to go
B That's why I want you to know
 Chorus:
EAbmAB I'm starting with the man in the mirror
EAbmAB I'm asking him to change his ways
EAbmABb And no message could have been any clearer
B If you wanna make the world a better place
EAbmC#mBA Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
 Verse 2:
EAbmC#mB I've been a victim of a selfish kind of love
A It's time that I realize
EAbmC#mB That there are some with no home, not a nickel to loan
A Could it be really me, pretending that they're not alone?
 Bridge:
F#mAbm A willow deeply scarred, somebody's broken heart
AAbm And a washed-out dream
F#mAbm They follow the pattern of the wind, ya' see
AB Cause they got no where to be
E That's why I'm starting with me
 Chorus:
EAbmAB I'm starting with the man in the mirror
EAbmAB I'm asking him to change his ways
EAbmABb And no message could have been any clearer

E Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
