Capo I
Key: G#

Intro: Em-C-G-D

          Em C
I was standing in the pouring rain one dark November night,
 Em C
Fighting off the bitter cold when she caught my eye,
Em C
Her face was taught and her eyes were filled, and to my surprise
Em D
She pulled out a photograph and my heart stopped inside,
              Am Bm C
She said, “he would’ve been three today,
Am Bm C
I miss his smile, I miss his face”,
Am Bm C
What was I supposed to say, but

Chorus:
G D C
I believe always, always
Em D C
Our savior never fails
G D C
And even when hope is gone
                   Am C
God knows our pain and his promise remains
        Em D C G D
He will be with you always.

            Em C
He was living in a broken world, dreaming of a home
          Em C
His heart was barely keeping place when I found him all alone
         Em C
Remembering the way he felt when his daddy said goodbye
            Em C
Fighting just to keep the tears and the anger locked inside
Am Bm C
He’s barely holding onto faith
Am Bm C
But deliverance is on its way cause

                   Am Bm
Friend, I don’t know where you are and I don’t know where you’ve been
                   C D
Maybe you’re fighting for your life or just about to throw the towel in
                    Am Bm
But you’re crying out to mercy, if there’s no help left at all
                 C D
If you’ve given everything you’ve got and you’re still about to fall
        Am Bm C D
Well hold on, hold on, hold on, cause
